Wish Big
Cards February 4th, 2010I actually am not that happy with today’s card. I was specifically trying to use a strip of patterned paper (inspired by a card on the cover of a magazine) as the starting point for the card and wasted a lot of energy trying to coordinate patterns and colours.
I *think* the card would have been okay if the placement of the image etc. wasn’t a bit too high on the base.
On the plus side, I did use a stamp that needed to be inked and I made a cute embellishment by running some felt through my cuttlebug and adding some glittery fun foam and a button. I also think I was moderately successful mixing patterned paper from two different collections.
Here’s the card:
The cute, girly cards are not really my style but I am trying to use what I have and branch out with my layouts, choice of colours. (I tend to stick to the same things)
I’ll be back tomorrow with another attempt at a “non-Kelly” style card.

I love this card. I do tend to like the girly cards though. I love the paper combo you used, and I think your stamp is precious. Just beautiful. I tend to be very self critical, but when I show it to others, they like it. Funny how that works huh.?..

Great job on this card! It turned out beautifully…girly and great details…yes:) fussy..no! The perfect balance of little somethings to really make the card pretty. Love your choice of papers for the strip along the bottom by the way
